CJC-1295 research leaves sleep, strength, and lasting safety open
The long form is a research substance that raises growth-hormone release. You'll read the adult results, including IGF-1, the liver's growth protein, and the unanswered health questions.
Both growth hormone and the liver protein IGF-1 rose
The research compound CJC-1295 increases the growth hormone released by your gland. These findings explain the blood changes without promising better health.
Healthy 20- to 40-year-old men received 60 or 90 micrograms per kilogram. Micrograms measure a tiny amount, and kilograms give body weight.
In those men, growth hormone rose about 46% on average. IGF-1, the liver's growth protein, rose roughly 45% a week later [3].
IGF-1 helps the body grow and repair. The gland released extra growth hormone between its usual bursts.
Another adult study gave 30 or 60 micrograms per kilogram [1]. Average growth hormone rose 2- to 10-fold and stayed raised beyond six days.
The IGF-1 rise lasted into days nine through eleven. Repeated shots kept IGF-1 raised for up to 28 days.
CJC-1295 acts first on your growth-hormone gland [1][2]. Your liver produces more IGF-1 in response to growth hormone.
In 2009, researchers checked other blood proteins in eleven healthy young men given CJC-1295 [5]. Some proteins fell; a small part of albumin became more plentiful.
Finding more of that albumin part did not establish damage in the men. Proteins from the immune system, which fights germs, also rose.
Men with bigger IGF-1 rises also had bigger rises in immune proteins and the albumin part. The link concerned the size of the rises, not just when they happened.
The changes in IGF-1 and the other proteins might help researchers detect a response to growth hormone, but the tests left better sleep, quicker recovery, and lasting safety unproved. You still need separate tests of those health questions.
The CJC-1295 safety answers explain swelling and blood-sugar concerns. The IGF-1 cancer links need care before drawing conclusions about this compound.
Extra hormone appeared between the gland's usual bursts
Growth hormone rose between bursts, while the bursts kept their size and timing [3]. That extra hormone raised the men's average blood readings.
Scientists had wondered whether CJC-1295 would replace bursts with steady hormone release. The test found that the usual bursts continued.
The timing of release may affect how tissues respond to growth hormone. The men kept their usual bursts of hormone, but keeping that timing didn't establish that CJC-1295 helped them sleep through the night, gain strength, recover from exercise sooner, or stay healthy.
You can't tell from the release timing whether anyone's sleep, strength, or speed of recovery improved, because the small study did not measure those changes in the men. The test also left lasting safety unanswered.

The albumin bond delays the long form's clearing
Adults needed an estimated 5.8 to 8.1 days before half the long CJC-1295 form cleared [1]. After repeated shots, IGF-1, the liver's growth protein, stayed raised up to 28 days.
The added DAC piece creates a bond between the compound and albumin in blood [2]. Albumin leaves blood slowly, so the joined compound also stays longer.
Four changes help the short form resist breakdown too. Without DAC, minutes to hours are enough for clearing.
Modified GRF is another name for this shorter form. Confusing those names can leave you expecting a different clearing time.
The CJC-1295 comparison identifies the form tested in each study. Days in blood describe how long the compound remained, but you still need tests that follow people's health to know whether continued use improved people's symptoms or brought about a health problem.
CJC-1295 and ipamorelin can prompt release in different ways
Ipamorelin is a research substance that can prompt growth-hormone release. CJC-1295 acts like the body's natural hormone that starts this release.
Ipamorelin acts where a hormone involved in hunger also acts. The link doesn't prove increased appetite.
Different parts of the gland's cells respond to the two substances. Giving both may therefore produce more growth hormone than giving either alone.
Early ipamorelin tests used rats, pigs, and rat gland cells in a dish [4]. Growth hormone rose, with little change in stress hormones or the hormone involved in milk production.
Male animals make this hormone too. Changing fewer hormones doesn't prove less harm to you.
Other researchers examined ipamorelin's growth-hormone response in pigs [8]. In rodents, ipamorelin restored bone growth reduced by steroids, drugs that can weaken bone formation [9].
Those studies tested ipamorelin, rather than ipamorelin combined with CJC-1295. Human tests with a comparison group provide little evidence about this pair.
You need people receiving the pair compared fairly with other people, so researchers can separate changes caused by treatment from changes in sleep, strength, or health that would have happened anyway. Better sleep, strength, recovery, and lasting safety still need such tests.

The men who slept more deeply received a different hormone
Giving men the natural release hormone increased their deep sleep [6]. Their nighttime growth hormone rose too, but they hadn't received CJC-1295.
A 2025 study examined how sleep controls growth-hormone release [11]. That study of timing did not test a treatment for poor sleep.
The shared action on the gland makes sleep worth examining. You still lack direct tests of better sleep or recovery from this compound.
CJC-1295 itself still needs a study of sleep benefits
Giving men the natural release hormone increased deep sleep [6]. More growth hormone also appeared in their blood at night.
Researchers examined sleep's control over hormone release in a 2025 study [11]. Neither test answers whether CJC-1295 improves your sleep.
CJC-1295 ipamorelin refers to two research substances
The growth-hormone gland responds to ipamorelin and CJC-1295 by releasing hormone [4]. Separate parts of the gland's cells respond to each substance.
Ipamorelin acts where a hunger-related hormone acts; that isn't proof of increased appetite. Using both might raise hormone more, but health benefits remain unproved.
CJC-1295 with ipamorelin needs fair tests of health changes
Each substance acts through a separate part of your gland's cells [4]. Researchers therefore have a reason to test whether combining the substances increases release.
Human studies with comparison groups provide little evidence about the pair. Without that evidence, better sleep, greater strength, and lasting safety remain uncertain.
CJC-1295 adult blood results leave recovery unanswered
Shots left adult growth-hormone readings raised for days [1][3]. The rise in IGF-1, the liver's growth protein, continued into days nine through eleven.
Extra hormone between bursts raised the average; the bursts continued normally. These findings don't prove that you'll gain strength, lose fat, recover faster, or avoid harm from continued use.
